Our goal is to educate
From a 2016 survey, only 61 perfect of firearm owners in the United States have received formal training on firearm safety and use (Rowhani-Rahbar et al., 2018, source). The other 39 percent have learned from casual teaching from friends and family.
Firearm and emergency training is a high priority at Range 54. We offer in-depth, professional programs in a wide variety of formats and categories. Our instructors are highly experienced and are here to help you improve your skills, feel confident with a firearm, answer your questions, and more. Our classes cater to a wide variety of shooters at all experience levels and skill levels. Expand your firearm and shooting education with Range 54.
Shooting classes for all skill levels in Wichita
Here you will find a concise list of our most popular classes we offer. All classes are located at our facility on East Kellogg Drive. We have classes that are extremely educational, fun and you’ll get shooting experience with knowledgeable teachers.
Learning the basics owning or shooting a gun is extremely important. We take the safety of our customers and community very seriously. Knowing the basics of guns could save someone’s life or even your own.
Our introductory beginner class is an 8-hour class to help develop an informed, responsible gun owner and shooter. We will cover how to choose a gun that’s right for you, and how it works. We will discuss ammunition, home safety, training family members, range safety, fundamentals, loading and unloading. We will then take the student to the range and practice what we learned in the classroom.

Kansas Concealed Carry
All of us want to have the ability to be able to protect ourselves and the people we care about while understanding our personal responsibilities as law-abiding gun owners. While Kansas has constitutional carry, we believe this training is necessary. Attending Range 54’s Carry Concealed Handgun class meets the requirements of the State of Kansas to obtain a CCH license.
This class is not teaching you how to shoot, but when it is legal to shoot. If you have never shot before, please consider an introductory class first. In 2021 the State of Kansas passed a law allowing 18-20 year olds to obtain a CCH license. Students in that age range must bring their own gun and ammunition. The law does not allow us to rent/loan guns or sell pistol caliber ammunition to people under 21. This class will be taught in a women’s only and co-ed class for the comfort of all our students.
Price: $100.00 + 25-50 rounds required
When: The first day of class is usually on a Friday at 6 p.m. – 10 p.m. and continues onto Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon or all day on the third Saturday of every month. Keep up with class schedules on Facebook or our class calendar.
